Adventure Trips Fall Semester 2010

The Spring Semester 2010 trip schedule has been established. It will be another exciting semester for everyone interested in pursuing an outdoor adventure activity. Check out the schedule - hopefully you will find one or more to your liking.

September 10-12: White Water Rafting
Ocoee River, TN
Price: $230/$250
Pre-trip: September 7

Come start off the semester right with a full day on the Ocoee Upper and Middle river, one of the wildest rivers in the Southeast! We have all you could need for this white water thrill ride… all we need is YOU!

September 10 & 12: Sailing Clinic
Sardis Lake, MS
Price: $15/$25
Pre-trip: September 7

Change up your typical weekend routine and join us just down the road at beautiful Sardis Lake, for an adventure in the sun with sailing lessons, new friends and OMOD. We provide all the equipment to set sail right outside of Oxford.

September 17 & 19: Mountain Biking Clinic
Taylor, MS
Price: $15/$25
Pre-trip: September 14

Take a break from the mundane weekend and come join us in Taylor with your bike or an OMOD bike and let’s tear up some trails together! All beginners and advanced riders are more than welcome!

September 24 & 26: Rock Climbing Clinic
Tishomingo St. Park, MS
Price: $50/$60
Pre-trip: September 21

Put your skills to work in the foothills of the scenic Appalachian Mountains. There are plenty of climbs for all levels. Your gear is included, so come join us for a “rockin” trip!

October 8-10: Caving & Spelunking
Raccoon Mountain, GA
Price: $100/$120
Pre-trip: October 5

Break out the coveralls, ‘cause this is gonna get messy! If you’ve never explored underground caverns, waterfalls, and crevasses, now is your chance!  Experience the “Get Muddy” tour as our guides take you down into the earth’s belly to see what lies beneath!.

October 15-17: River Canoeing
Buffalo River, AR

Just picture yourself drifting below high limestone bluffs on the clear waters of the Buffalo, enjoying the serenity of a day on the river, watching the wildlife, stopping to swim and picnic, and counting the variety of trees and wildflowers along the shore. Need we say more?

October 22-24: Rock Climbing
Horsepens 40, AL

Put your skills to use at the south’s premier climbing destinations- Horsepens 40! There are plenty of problems for all levels of climbers, so join us as we head east; your gear is included, so bring you buddy and join us for this rockin’ weekend.

November 12-14: Sea Kayaking
Lake DeGray St. Park, AR

Rich in scenic beauty and wildlife watching opportunities, DeGray Lake offers many rewards for kayaking enthusiasts. The mostly undeveloped shoreline, combined with its numerous coves and islands, makes this 13,800-acre lake in the foothills of the Ouachita Mountains ideal for OMOD’s sea kayaks!

November 21-26: Fall Break Backpacking
Sipsey Wilderness, AL
Price: $80/$90
Pre-trip: November 16

Join OMOD as we section hike through the Sipsey Wilderness in Bankhead National Forest of Alabama where we will explore the third largest wilderness reserve east of the Mississippi River. We’ll trek through this beautiful park, exploring waterfalls and streams, and stargazing at night around the campfire.

December 12-18: Winter Break Ski & Snowboard
Whistler, British Columbia, Canada

Let us take you on a truly awe-inspiring adventure through one of the most famous ski resorts in the world! Whistler's got everything - a booming village, runs for every level, world-class vistas, and Canadian hospitality. With all of its terrain, you can stay here for two weeks and still feel like you're riding a different mountain each day.
