The Civil Rights Movement in Mississippi will be the theme of the 2010 Porter Fortune Jr. History Symposium. This year's event will be a joint event with the Future of the South Symposium organized through the Center for the Study of Southern Culture.
Dates will be February 18-20, 2010. Scholarly talks and discussion will take place Thursday and Friday, February 18-19, and an unstructured discussion of the relationship between the history of the Civil Rights Movement and the future of Mississippi will take place on Saturday, February 20.
