533 Documentary Photography and Oral History: Fall 2008 Syllabus
534 Studies in Documentary Fieldwork: Interdisciplinary study of the theory, practice, and tradition of documentary field research through readings, photography, films and video tapes, audio recordings, and field notes. (Same as ANTH 534, ART 534). Spring 2008 Syllabus
597, 598, 599 Special Topics: Interdisciplinary study of specialized topics in Southern culture. May be repeated once if topic varies.
601 Southern Studies Graduate Seminar I: Multidisciplinary reading and research seminar in Southern studies. Students will read and discuss a common core of readings while pursuing research in their individual areas of interest.
602 Southern Studies Graduate Seminar II: Reading, discussion, and research and writing course focused on exploring various perspectives on Southern society, its development, and its institutions, social classes, and ethnic and racial groups.
603 Internship: Supervised research and work at off-campus cultural institutions. A journal relating the fieldwork experiences of the intern is required of every student. Students receiving 9 hours of credit must submit a final research paper and devote full time to the internship.
