Welcome to The University of Mississippi Online Loan Entrance Counseling webpage. We are happy to offer these sessions as a convenient method to satisfy federal requirements for loan entrance counseling.

 

Borrowing money for college is a serious financial obligation. The information provided will explain your rights and responsibilities as a borrower of federal funds, which must be understood before loans can be disbursed.

 

You must be admitted to the university to complete Loan Entrance Counseling.

 

If you only have Federal Direct Subsidized, Unsubsidized, and/or Graduate PLUS loan, then you only need to complete Direct Loan counseling.

You need to complete Direct Loan entrance counseling only once.

If you also have a Federal Perkins Loan, you must complete an additional online entrance counseling session specific to the Perkins Loan.

You need to complete Perkins Loan entrance counseling only once.

If you also have a Health Professions Student Loan (HPSL), you must complete an additional online entrance counseling session specific to the HPSL.

You must complete HPSL entrance counseling once each academic year.
