BIOGRAPHY - Larry D. Ridgeway
Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs

The Vice Chancellor provides leadership and direction for the Division of Student Affairs which includes fourteen departments, providing programs, services and facilities designed to enhance the learning experiences of our students. The Division of Student Affairs includes Admissions and Registrar’s Offices; Campus Programming; Campus Recreation; Career Center; University Counseling Center; Dean of Students; Financial Aid; Health Services; International Programs; Luckyday Programs; Orientation and Parent Programs; Student Housing and Residence Life; Student Media Center; and University Police.

Larry D. Ridgeway was appointed Interim Vice Chancellor effective July 1, 2007, and was named Vice Chancellor in November of the same year. He had previously served as Associate Vice Chancellor for six years and as Director of Financial Aid from 1996 to 2001. Dr. Ridgeway came to Ole Miss from Auburn University where he had served as Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs for five years after a twelve-year tenure as Director of Student Financial Aid. His career in higher education began at the University of South Alabama as Assistant Director and later Director of Financial Aid.

Dr. Ridgeway holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics education and a master’s degree in counselor education from the University of South Alabama. He received the Ed.D. in higher education administration from Auburn University in 2001. For the 1998-99 academic year, Dr. Ridgeway was named the University’s Outstanding Executive/Administrative/Managerial staff member year. More recently in 2003 he was awarded Honorary Life membership in the Southern Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators.
