University Police Officer Robert Langley was killed in the line of duty on October 21, 2006. Langley was a four-year veteran of the University Police Department and a sergeant in the Mississippi National Guard who recently returned from a combat tour in Afghanistan.
Scholarship Endowment
Family and friends have established the Robert Langley Memorial Scholarship Endowment through The University of Mississippi Foundation. The scholarship will be awarded to an Ole Miss student majoring in criminal justice.

Note of Sympathy
On behalf of the board of aldermen, Oxford Police Department, and the people of Oxford, we are deeply saddened by the death of UPD Officer Robert Langley and the apparently troubling circumstances surrounding this loss.
