University Police Officer Robert Langley was killed in the line of duty on October 21, 2006. Langley was a four-year veteran of the University Police Department and a sergeant in the Mississippi National Guard who recently returned from a combat tour in Afghanistan. Family and friends have established the Robert Langley Memorial Scholarship Endowment through The University of Mississippi Foundation. The scholarship will be awarded to an Ole Miss student majoring in criminal justice.
