Families experience Ole Miss hospitality during special weekend

On Sept. 7-8, the maples on campus had not turned bright orange yet, and many fans broke a sweat sitting in the football stadium, but it turned out to be a wonderful weekend as many families visited their students during the annual Fall Family Weekend.

Fall Family Weekend is a tradition that has existed at the university for more than 20 years. The weekend provides a chance for families to become better acquainted with the Ole Miss campus and enjoy the experience with their students.

More than 600 families attended this special event, which was held during the home football game against the University of Texas at El Paso. Those attending also had the chance to visit the University Museum on Friday night and enjoy a taste of Ole Miss' hospitality in the Grove. All participants received a commemorative Fall Family Weekend T-shirt and witnessed their students run across the football field in the annual Rebel Run.

Be on the lookout for an announcement with the 2013 date in one of our spring editions. Also make sure you check out some of the pictures from this year's event at our Facebook page.

Hope to see you on campus next fall for this awesome event.
