Brief Bio
Dr. Bradley E. Schultz is an Associate Professor in the Department of Journalism at the University of Mississippi specializing in sports and broadcast news. Dr. Schultz graduated with a B.J. degree from the University of Missouri in 1984 and spent 15 years in local television news as an anchor, reporter, photographer, producer, editor and news director. He returned to school for his Masters (Southern Illinois, 1999) and Ph.D. (Texas Tech, 2002) and began teaching at Ole Miss in 2002. Dr. Schultz has authored four textbooks focusing on sports media and broadcast producing. His research interests include sports media, and he has published more than a dozen refereed research papers, and another dozen have been presented at academic conferences across the country. Dr. Schultz is the creator and editor-in- chief of the Journal of Sports Media, an academic journal that began publication in 2006.
