He earned his bachelor's degree at Vanderbilt University, his master's degree from Ohio University, and his Ph.D. in philosophy from Southern Illinois University. He began teaching at the University of Mississippi in 2007, both in his department and in the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College. He served as President of the Mississippi Philosophical Association (2009-2010) as well as Trustee, Treasurer, and now Executive Director of the Society for Philosophers in America. He has served also as Associate Chair and now serves as Chair (2011-2014) of the American Philosophical Association's Committee on Public Philosophy. Dr. Weber's first book, 'Rawls, Dewey, and Constructivism,' was published in 2010 with the Continuum International Publishing Group of London and was commended in Notre Dame Philosophical Reviews. In 2011, Continuum released Weber's second book, 'Morality, Leadership, and Public Policy.' His third book, 'Democracy and Leadership: On Pragmatism and Social Intelligence,' is under contract with Lexington Books for publication in 2013. He has plans under way for his fourth book, 'A Culture of Justice: On Fairness and Pragmatism,' which he hopes to publish in 2014. Finally, Dr. Weber is also designing several grant proposals. He is always looking for new and exciting ways to make use of philosophical, creative thinking to resolve problems for communities inside and outside the university.
