Policies and Procedures

The Rebel Man Sprint Triathlon administration appreciates your patronage of the RMST. We believe it extremely important to receive input from triathletes on how to improve our event. For the first four years, many RMST triathletes voiced their concerns about the safety of the Bike route. In fact, the Bike route received the lowest approval rating of all components of the race. Athletes and volunteers concerns centered on the heavy traffic on the route. Because of the venue we cannot isolate a bike route nor provide enough volunteers to cover the race course on Saturdays.

Safety is our #1 concern for all triathletes and the RMST volunteers. Because of the high volume of automobile and pedestrian traffic scheduled for the last Saturday of March —which would make riding bikes through or around the Oxford area difficult and dangerous—the planning committee moved the event to a Sunday morning race.

Sunday races are commonplace in many communities. Simply, the reduced traffic provides a safer and more competitive race. We appreciate your patronage and understanding..

Some outfit suggestions include running singlets and tri attire (shorts, shirts, etc). Please remember that your attire should fit close to the skin and dries quickly. After you complete the swim portion, you are allowed to change clothes in the locker rooms inside the Natatorium.
