English 309 is a continuation of 308. The purpose of English 309 is to provide a survey of English literature from the Romantic Period (the late eighteenth century) to the present. Our class will take a multimedia approach to the works studied. We will discuss representative works in their original historical/cultural contexts and also examine the continuing significance of these works in other cultures and other media (the Internet, art, music, film, comics, etc.).
English 309 is a web-enhanced course. Course materials, announcements, assignment changes, and links to pertinent Internet sites will be posted on our web site on the university’s Blackboard/Course Info system.
