Arup Ganguly

Biography

Arup Ganguly earned his Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Pittsburgh. His primary research interests are in Empirical Corporate Finance. His research has been presented at the annual meetings of top finance conferences such as the American Finance Association (AFA), the Financial Management Association (FMA), the Midwest Finance Association (MFA), the Eastern Finance Association (EFA), the Northern Finance Association (NFA), and the Southern Finance Association (SFA), among others. His research has received several awards, including the “Outstanding Paper in Empirical Finance” in 2020 from the Southern Finance Association (SFA).

Dr. Ganguly has taught different finance courses at Ole Miss Business and co-advises the Financiers’ Club at Ole Miss. He was awarded the School of Business Administration Outstanding Teacher of the Year in 2020. He has also won several prestigious teaching awards at the University of Pittsburgh (Katz) and the University of Toronto (Rotman). Before pursuing his doctorate in Finance at the University of Pittsburgh, he worked as an Associate at Scotia Capital, Inc., in Canada, and received a Master of Finance degree from the University of Toronto.
