Brief Bio
Dr. Alice Clark currently serves as Vice Chancellor for Research and Sponsored Programs at the University of Mississippi. She holds a faculty appointment in the School of Pharmacy. She received her B.S. in Microbiology from Troy State University and her M.S. and her Ph.D. from the University of Mississippi in the discipline of Pharmacognosy - the study of drugs from natural origins. Dr. Clark's research has focused on the discovery and development of new antifungal drug candidates. Since 1984, she has received continuous research funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). In recent years she has become involved in programs aimed at developing the future scientific workforce and communicating the value and impact of science in our society.
