Brief Bio
Bonita (Bonnie) Brown "re-retired" in May 2016 from the University of Mississippi as Mentoring Coordinator for the Ole Miss Women's Council for Philanthropy (OMWC), a program that awards scholarships as well as provides mentoring and leadership training. In this part-time position, she met with the 25 OMWC scholars each week as she guided them in navigating college life. During her tenure at Ole Miss which began in September 1972, Bonnie was privileged to serve in many capacities beginning in the Pharmaceutics Department in the School of Pharmacy, Continuing Education, Institutional Research, Academic Affairs, and ending in the Registrar's Office as Assistant Registrar in 2003. In 1990, she was selected as the University of Mississippi's Overall Outstanding Staff Member. Ms. Brown is married to Thomas Brown, a retired professor at the University of Mississippi School Of Pharmacy. They have two sons, Dennis, a pharmacist in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, and Jeffrey, a physician in Tupelo. More importantly, they are blessed to have 5 grandchildren!
