Brief Bio
In June 2007, Dr. Banahan joined the University of Mississippi as a Research Professor in the Center for Pharmaceutical Marketing and Management (CPMM) and as a Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Administration. In January 2008, he assumed the position of Director of CPMM. He had previously served the university from 1984 – 2000 as the Coordinator of the Pharmaceutical Marketing and Management Research Program. Just prior to his returning to the university, Dr. Banahan served as a Senior Vice President of Roger Green and Associates, Inc., a pharmaceutical marketing research consulting firm. In this position he designed and managed research projects for several major pharmaceutical manufacturers including Amgen, Biogen Idec, AstraZeneca, and Amylin. He also was a primary developer of their innovative patient simulation methodology. Dr. Banahan’s research areas of interest include pharmaceutical marketing, medication epidemiology, and health outcomes related to medication use.
