The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

Brief Bio

Charles L. Hussey is Chair and Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry. He received the Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from the University of Mississippi in 1974. He joined the University as an Assistant Professor following four years of active service in the United States Air Force where he was a military research chemist at the Frank J. Seiler Research Laboratory and a Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry and Biological Sciences at the United States Air Force Academy. He was promoted to Professor in 1987 and became Chair in 1997. For the past 34 years he has carried out research on the electrochemistry and transport properties of ionic liquids and molten salts. He has authored/co- authored more than 140 refereed journal articles, book chapter, patents, and technical reports. Professor Hussey's research has been supported by the National Science Foundation, Air Force Office of Scientific Research, Alcoa, and the Department of Energy. He is Associate Editor of the Journal of The Electrochemical Society. Professor Hussey teaches courses in electrochemistry and analytical chemistry. He received the University of Mississippi Faculty Achievement Award for Outstanding Teaching and Research in 1996; he is a member of Sigma Xi and Phi Kappa Phi. He was selected as a Fellow of The Electrochemical Society in 2003.
