Brief Bio
Greg Brock is a Senior Fellow at the Overby Center for Southern Journalism and Politics at the University of Mississippi and an Instructional Assistant Professor in the Meek School of Journalism and New Media. After a 43-year career in daily newspapers, he retired in 2017 from The New York Times, where he had been senior editor for standards. In his 20 years with The Times, he was also the Washington news editor, the International news editor and deputy political editor. Brock also worked at The Washington Post, The Charlotte (N.C.) Observer, The San Francisco Examiner and The Palm Beach (Fla.) Post. He was a fellow at the Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard University during the 1993-94 academic year. He teaches journalism courses in the Meek School and in the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College.
