Brief Bio
Joseph Gladden serves as the Vice Chancellor for Research and Sponsored and is and Professor of Physics. He earned his Ph.D. in Condensed Matter Physics from the Pennsylvania State University in 2003 followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in the Dept. of Mathematics at the Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Gladden has published numerous papers in high impact Physics journals such as Physical Review Letters, one of which was recognized in the "Physics News of 2007" review by the American Physical Society. The current research interests of Dr. Gladden are high temperature elastic constant measurements and phase transitions in novel materials such as Zintl phase thermoelectrics and strongly correlated transition metal oxides, as well as acoustics and self assembly dynamics in complex wormlike micellar fluid has recently become interested in structural health monitoring methodologies fo systems and is currently investigating dry storage container health for spent n in partnership with the Dept. of Energy.
