The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

Brief Bio

Marjorie M. Holland is Professor of Biology. Dr. Holland received her Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts in 1977. Her dissertation work combined concepts, tools, and techniques from plant ecology, geomorphology, aquatic biology, and plant systematics in looking at floodplain dynamics. She has received funding from the US Department of Agriculture, the National Science Foundation, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Hardin Foundation, and the Conservation and Research Foundation. Following six years as Director of the Washington, D.C. office of the Ecological Society of America, Dr. Holland took a position as Senior Research Ecologist at the National Health and Environmental Effects Research Laboratory in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. In 1995 she joined the Biology Department at the University of Mississippi and was promoted to Full Professor in 2002. Dr. Holland teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in botany, wetland ecology, environmental science, aquatic botany, natural resource management, and tropical botany.
