Brief Bio
Dr. Jeffrey T. Jackson is Professor of Sociology and Chair of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Mississippi. He received his B.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Texas-Austin. He is the author of "The Globalizers: Development Workers in Action" (2007) and teaches courses on race and ethnic relations and international development. His research focuses on the topics of the "global south" as well as the history of race on the UM campus. He is co-chair of the UM Slavery Research Group: http://slaveryresearchgroup.olemiss.edu.
