Brief Bio
I am an assistant professor of Spanish in the Department of Modern Languages at the University of Mississippi with a research focus on premodern Iberian literature and culture. My main focus is the various uses and manifestations of Andalusi and Arabic occult magical practices in the context of Christian Castile and the later unified Spain in addition to other aspects of Iberia's multi-faceted identities. I, therefore, focus on Castilian and Galician- Portuguese literary sources in conjunction with contemporaneous grimoires in Andalusi Arabic, Hebrew, Latin, Aljamiado and Castilian.
