ABSTRACT

The Effects School Uniforms have on Reducing Violence

The purpose of this study was to discuss how school uniforms act as agents to promote safety and reduce violence. School uniforms are one of several strategies being used by this nation's public schools to restore order in the classroom and safety in schools. School uniforms in some schools are less a matter of discipline and more an attempt to save lives. The results of this study indicate that uniforms increase discipline, unity, and respect for the teacher and the awareness of intruders on school campuses and decreases social status. However, uniforms cannot solve all the problems of schools, but can definitely help.
