  • ABSTRACT

The Use of Flow Cytometry on the Observance of the Bonding of Tamoxifen to Cancerous Tumor Cells

At this time, there are very dangerous techniques used to test the effectiveness of breast cancer medication, once treated with only chemotherapy methods that killed the host's cells and the tumor cells. Medications such as tamoxifen and 4-hydroxtamoxifen have shown considerable progress in the regression of estrogen sensitive cancerous tumor cells. The current technique of evaluating the bonding of these medications to the receptor sites of cancerous tumor cells are found on the use of radioactive isotopes. Needless to say, if a miscalculation or careless action occurs, the scientist involved will be placed in great dangerx. This study will promote the use of flow cytometry, a technique that uses a laser to view cells within a flowing apparatus.
