ABSTRACT

 Two Major Ethical Dilemmas Faced By Advertisers

The purpose of this research paper is to examine two major ethical dilemmas faced by advertisers when the glorification of materialism and sexual suggestiveness are used as marketing tools to sell products, services, and ideas to youth.  This research is important because youth are often the main target of advertisers when selling various goods and ideas.  Advertising openly glorifies the materialistic side of society, placing a consortium of ideas in the heads of many adolescents, suggesting that one needs certain items to be defined as an eminent figure in society; depicting what is "assumed" socioeconomic status.
