ABSTRACT
Respect or Ridicule: A Statistical Understanding of Criminals and
the Law
| I am conducting a comparative research study of selected criminal statutes and penalties for the states of Alabama and Mississippi. The research is being conducted to decide whether the punishment implemented by the state suits the crime committed. Statistics will be taken from both states to determine whether or not the punishment makes criminals actually fear committing the crime, or whether not the criminals neglect the laws like the laws actually make no difference. The crimes involved in the study are child abuse, and domestic violence. |
