ABSTRACT

How to Help Ease Economic Disparities of Third World Countries

This paper, “How to help ease economic disparities of third world countries,” is aimed at offering solutions to assist the economies of underdeveloped nations.  Often poor states suffer from poverty, meager educational systems, corrupt government bureaucracies, and a lack of a diversified economy.  Antidotes that have not worked are efforts to improve education alone, investment in human and physical capital single-handedly, population control, foreign aid, and debt relief.  This may be because the remedies ignored the basic economic principle that people respond to incentives.  Furthermore, government corruption and political instability can undermine reform efforts.
