Mahmoud A. ElSohly has a knack for formulating legal drugs and tests that reveal how potent illicit drugs are, whether they are contaminated, from where they might have come and whether someone is using them. His expertise and work have been sought by companies and nearly all our government’s agencies. These are some of the reasons he is the university’s 2013 Distinguished Research and Creative Achievement Award recipient.

At commencement, Chancellor Dan Jones presented one of these coveted awards to Marvin C. Wilson, the pharmacy school’s associate dean for academic and student affairs, who has been involved in the education of thousands of pharmacy students.

With the hope of shaping international policy regarding the sustainable use of marine resources, Marc Slattery talked about these issues May 2 on the world’s biggest stage: the United Nations’ Intersessional Workshop on Marine Genetic Resources.

Mickey C. Smith, Barnard Distinguished Professor Emeritus, is one of the world’s most read and respected pharmaceutical marketing experts.
