The School of Pharmacy is encouraging its graduates to register for Pharmacy Alumni Weekend, which includes reunions for the classes of 1954, '64, '74, '84, '89 and '94, and the Pharm.D. Class of 2004. The April 4-5 event also includes a golf tournament, continuing education program and awards banquet at which the school will name its Distinguished Alumnus of the Year.

A pharmacy student has come up with an innovative policy proposal supporting pharmacogenomics testing by pharmacists so they can help tailor drug therapies for individual patients. "All drugs are not created equal, and the patients who take [them] aren't either," said Cody Clifton, who crafted the proposal for the American Pharmacists Association–Academy of Student Pharmacists.

If the 13th annual International Conference on the Science of Botanicals is as successful as the previous 12, it will be due in part to the efforts of program coordinator Jennifer Taylor. Taylor’s work is like putting together a jigsaw puzzle, her boss said, adding, "Jennifer makes sure all the pieces fit together to ensure that everything comes off without a hitch."

The National Community Pharmacists Association has selected Lauren Lyles to serve on its Student Leadership Council and to fill a summer internship at the organization’s headquarters. As a council member, she will represent student chapters in her region. As an intern, she will demonstrate the importance of the national association to the profession.

Since graduating from the University of Mississippi’s doctoral program in health care administration, Sallye Wilcox (BSN 61, PhD 84) has assumed such job responsibilities as vice president of patient services for Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center and executive director of the Mississippi Hospital for Restorative Care. Whatever her title, she has always championed interprofessional care.
