Pterostilbene is found in blueberries, grapes and other small fruits.

Work to bring pterostilbene to market received a national award for excellence in technology transfer. The award was presented to the university’s Division of Technology Management, the USDA Agricultural Research Service’s Natural Products Utilization Research Unit and ChromaDex Corp. by the Federal Laboratory Consortium in April.

Before becoming UM’s chief research officer, Alice Clark spent 22 years working in the School of Pharmacy, where she helped establish one of the longest continually funded antifungal research programs in the history of the National Institutes of Health. As CRO, she is credited with expanding UM’s research infrastructure, research competitiveness and reputation as a player in addressing issues confronting our state, nation and world.
