IJP International Editorial Board and Blind Peer Review of Manuscripts Submitted to IJP
IJP – International Journal of Pavements is in its 12th year of publication in 2013 after its 10th anniversary of publication in 2011. On behalf of IJP
publisher and editors, we are pleased to announce that over 140 peer reviewed scientific papers and 8 technical
notes have been published in 11 volumes (2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012). These papers were
contributed worldwide from 24 countries (Argentina, Brazil, Canada, China, Egypt, Finland, France, Greece, Ghana, India, Israel, Italy, Japan,
Malaysia, Indonesia, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, Tunisia, UK, and the USA). Topics
include airports, highways, low-volume roads, soil stabilization, block pavements, asphalt, concrete, recycling, laboratory
characterization, design methods, numerical modeling, field performance studies, safety, construction techniques, life-cycle cost
analysis, and pavement maintenance management.
The IJP international editorial board members and invited
reviewers are respected pavement experts from 16 countries worldwide. They perform the blind-review of submitted papers in
the most diligent and constructive way. In the double blind review process, the reviewers do not know the names of the author(s). Overall, about
50 percent of the submitted paper manuscripts have been rejected every year, mostly based on the criteria of originality and
contribution to the state of knowledge. This is the primary reason to publish a combined single issue of January-May-September since 2006.
Authors are required to provide adequate references including related IJP papers. To ensure originality and quality of submitted
papers, each author is required to submit the IJP paper manuscript offer form that has been used since 2003.IJP is indexed in TRIS and
EBSCO database. In the most recent Brazilian Minitsry of Education CAPES ranking, IJP is given B1, the third highest rating on 8-point Qualis
scale.(www.capes.gov.braviiacad/qualis) Effort is under way to register IJP in other international journal indexing system.
Dr. Waheed Uddin is the Chief Editor of IJP since its founding in 2002. He is the Director of CAIT at the University of Mississippi.
Previously a pavement expert for the United Nations, he has worked, lectured, and made presentations worldwide in 27 countries. Dr. Uddin
has 30 years of professional experience in highways, airports, sustainable development, and related areas of transportation engineering and
infrastructure management. Dr. Uddin was the President of iSMARTi - international Society for Maintenance And Rehabilitation of Transport
infrastructure (2004-07).
