“Della Reed Davidson attended high school and college at Rust College. She came to Oxford in 1937 as a teacher and eventually acted as Assistant Principal of Johnson-Peterson Elementary. In 1969-1970, with the integration of the school system, Davidson became Assistant Principal of Oxford Elementary and finally the first African-American Principal of Bramlett elementary.

Davidson has been active in a wide variety of organizations from church youth groups to community chorus of Tri-Hi-Y and Hi-Y. She has also been president of the Oxford Economic Development Association."
