Charlie Lapham and Index Kentuckiensis
We are converts to this open code database based on Microsoft Access that serves as our data entry structure. Its flexibility and adaptability are meeting our needs perfectly! |
The National Science Foundation, Biological Research Collections Program (BRC)
Thank you, NSF, for the funds to completely renovate our herbarium, install compactors, and for three years of support for Sula Vanderplank to oversee data entry and editing and to build our webpage. |
John Kartesz and the Biota of North America Program (BONAP)
John Kartesz worked with Lucile McCook to produce the first checklist for the plants of Mississippi, posted on the Pullen Herbarium webpage in 2000. We are also appreciative of his fine work, with Chris Meacham, on the Synthesis of the North American Flora. |
USDA-PLANTS Database
We are grateful to the USDA for their data tables of synonymy, taxonomy and current nomenclature which we have used in our searchable web structure. |
Univeristy of Mississippi Geoinformatics Center
The NASA-funded UMGC provided two computers, mapping software and training for our staff and several graduate students doing projects in the Pullen Herbarium. |
Holly Springs National Forest
Holly Springs National Forest provided funding to allow Lucile McCook and Margaret Parks to produce the Guide to Rare Plants of the Holly Springs National Forest. This guide should be posted on the web before the end of 2003. |
Mississippi Museum of Natural Science/Natural Heritage Inventory
Ron Wieland of the state Heritage Program provided information on rare plants of northern Mississippi, allowing us to work on the Guide to Rare Plants of the Holly Springs National Forest (see above). |
