In the fall of 2003, a committee composed of university and city community members called for the public to contribute original materials relating to the depot. Items came from as near as Coffeeville, Mississippi and as far as Toledo, Ohio. The result of this request for gifts combined with the already substantial holdings in the Department of Archives and Special Collections at the University of Mississippi are the subject of this site's historical section.
