Eman Ashour

Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery and Research Assistant Professor in the Research Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences

Eman Abdellatif Ashour

Eman Ashour is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery in the School of Pharmacy. She serves as the program coordinator for the Pharmaceutics graduate program.

Research Interests

Dr. Ashour's teaching and research interests are on pre-formulation and formulation development of solid dosage form to enhance the solubility and bioavailability of poor water-soluble drugs using solid dispersion approaches.

Biography

Dr. Eman Ashour is an Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery at the University of Mississippi. She received her B.S. in Pharmacy from the University of Alexandria, Egypt, and her Ph.D. from the University of Mississippi. Dr. Ashour's research laboratory focuses on the design, development, and optimization of small molecule drug delivery systems to increase efficacy, stability, and safety. The lab uses a number of technologies, including hot-melt extrusion, spray drying, nanotechnology, and 3D printing, to improve the solubility, stability, and bioavailability of poorly water-soluble drugs.

Dr. Ashour's lab has a predominant focus on cannabis drug delivery, particularly CBD formulation development. Moreover, Dr. Ashour's research uses formulation composition and processing methods approaches to address different challenges in drug delivery for pediatric and geriatric populations.
