University Police Department

The three units which compose the University Police Department– patrol, administrative operations, and emergency management– are an integrated team striving to achieve excellence in public safety and to ensure a high quality of student-faculty life by promoting a tranquil, safe atmosphere conducive to the objectives of the University. The department is dedicated to the protection of the university properties to ensure the beauty, security, and safe function of the campus grounds and resources.

Student Disability Services

In collaboration with the larger campus community, SDS assists the University in its commitment to protect the civil rights of students with disabilities and to assist with the design of more welcoming and inclusive environments. SDS is responsible for determining support for a student’s disability-related need for accommodations and for facilitating, through an interactive process with students and faculty, the removal of unintentional curricular and programmatic barriers.

University Counseling Center

The University Counseling Center offers in-person and telemental health services. At the University Counseling Center (UCC), you will find a team of dedicated professionals who strive to offer the best care possible in an atmosphere of acceptance and respect. If you are experiencing a mental health-related crisis or emergency after regular business hours, then call the UCC office at 662-915-3784 to speak to an after-hours counselor.

Math Lab

The purpose of the labs is to help students develop their mathematical skills through applied methods. We offer tutoring for all mathematics courses up to Calculus 4. Our labs are staffed with tutors throughout the day. The labs offer a hands-on component that supplements the traditional lectures that students receive in class.

Writing Center

We offer free writing consultation services for UM students. Our highly trained peer consultants work alongside UM students on projects in all disciplines at any stage of the composition process. Our centers provide access to free one-on-one consultations, group workshops, and other writing-focused resources. No matter your home campus, you can make appointments at any of our centers through our online reservation system.

Online Testing Center

The UM Online Testing office offers a variety of proctored exams in the Linda Chitwood Testing Center at the University of Mississippi Jackson Avenue Center. Our mission is to serve the University and the community by facilitating and providing high quality testing services. We value integrity, quality, and efficiency and adhere to the National College Testing Association Professional Standards.
