Mr. Emad Gerges received his M.A. in Applied Linguistics from The University of Mississippi. He specializes in teaching Arabic as a foreign language and translation.
Biography
Mr. Gerges is a highly energetic and enthusiastic Arabic Language Instructor at The University of Mississippi. He taught Arabic as a foreign language in several places including the Middle Eastern Studies Center in Kansas City, The TAFL Center, Alexandria University, Egypt, The University of Texas at Austin, The University of Pennsylvania, and the AALIM Institute in Morocco. He has demonstrated an ability to teach, motivate, and direct students at a variety of academic levels and consistently maintains excellent relations with students, faculty, and administrators. Emad received his M.A. in Applied Linguistics from The University of Mississippi in 2023. He also has a special diploma in counseling and a TOT certificate from NCEE, U.S.A. He has a diploma in TESL from The University of Exeter, UK, and a diploma in TAFL from Alexandria University, Egypt. Emad is also a certified OPI tester of MSA and an ILR/OPI certified tester of Egyptian Arabic. Mr. Gerges worked for the American Councils for International Education for over 8 years as an Arabic language instructor and 4 years as the Academic Coordinator of the Arabic Overseas Flagship program in Morocco. He has experience in curriculum development and designed many courses at the superior level. Currently, Emad is pursuing his Ph.D. studies at The University of Mississippi.
