UNIVERSITY OF MISSISSIPPI SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES


The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

Brief Bio

Ellen J. Foster, Assistant Professor of Secondary Education - Social Studies, received her Ph.D. in Geography-Geographic Education from Texas State University-San Marcos in May 2006. Dr. Foster taught high school social studies for nine years in the Greater San Antonio area upon completion of her M.A. in Teaching (Trinity University, 1994). In addition, she served as adjunct geography faculty in the Alamo Community College District from 2004 to 2007. Dr. Foster joined the University of Mississippi in 2007 and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in social studies methods and geographic education. She was recently elected Vice President of Curriculum & Instruction for the National Council for Geographic Education and will serve as President in 2016.
