RICHARD G FORGETTE
Brief Bio
Richard Forgette is Professor and Chair of the Political Science Department. Professor Forgette received M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Rochester in 1992. He was an Assistant Professor and Associate Professor of Political Science at Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) from 1992-2003. He also served as the 1996-97 American Political Science Association William Steiger Congressional Fellow. In 2003, Professor Forgette joined the Political Science Department at the University of Mississippi as Professor and Chair. Dr. Forgette has published numerous articles on the U.S. Congress, congressional elections, and public policy. He is the author of two books and his third book is under contract with CQ Press. Dr. Forgette has received a National Science Foundation support for his research on social networks and Hurricane Katrina recovery. He teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in American politics, public policy analysis, and quantitative research methods.
