The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

Brief Bio

Dr. John M. Rimoldi, Ph.D., is Professor of Medicinal Chemistry and Research Professor of The Research Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the School of Pharmacy at The University of Mississippi. He also holds faculty appointments in the Environmental Toxicology Research Program and The Laboratory for Applied Drug Design and Synthesis, and is Vice-President of Paradox Pharmaceuticals Inc., an early-stage company dedicated to the development and commercialization of new drugs for treating cancer and heart disease in humans and animals. Dr. Rimoldi received his B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh (1989), and Ph.D. in Chemistry from Virginia Tech (1993). He spent 2 years as a Postdoctoral fellow at the Peters Center for the Study of Parkinson’s Disease and Disorders of the CNS prior to starting his academic appointment at the University of Mississippi. He is serving his second consecutive 3-year term as one of four Distinguished Teaching Scholars in the School of Pharmacy, and in 2002, was awarded the University of Mississippi Faculty Achievement Award for Outstanding Teaching and Scholarship. He is an IUPAC fellow, serves on the Editorial Board for two medicinal chemistry journals, and is Associate Editor for the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry Letters (Bioinfo Publications). He is a long-standing member of The American Chemical Society, The American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, and Sigma Xi. Dr. Rimoldi has published over 60 research and teaching publications in the areas of synthetic, medicinal, and environmental chemistry. His research activities include programs in drug discovery and development, natural products chemistry, and marine proteomic analysis.
