About Campus Mail Services

The University of Mississippi’s centralized Mail Service, located in the JAC Resource Building and overseen by the Assistant Director of Procurement Services, processes all incoming and outgoing departmental mail. Incoming mail, including letters, parcels, and other items, is sorted and delivered daily. Interdepartmental mail is picked up, sorted, and delivered, while outgoing mail is processed, sorted, metered, and charged to departmental accounts. Campus Mail is for official University business only and cannot be used for personal mail.

Student Mail Services

To receive mail, your child will need a PakMail box. Campus Mail Services is for faculty and staff only, so we can’t assist with student mail. For help setting up a PakMail box, please contact Student Housing for guidance.

Please visit PakMail for more information about PakMail student mail services and how to obtain a mailbox to get your mail.

Policies and Procedures

Refer to the following policies and procedures when using campus mail.
  • Please bundle your outgoing U.S. mail with a mail card on top of the stack. Sort outgoing campus mail and stamped mail separately and neatly. Failure to do so may result in significant delays. The Campus Mail Department will process unsorted mail only after all properly bundled mail has been handled. Your cooperation will help speed up the processing of your mail.
  • Please note that mail with a typewritten or handwritten return address cannot be processed by Campus Mail Service. Only rubber-stamped return addresses or first or fourth-class labels are acceptable, in accordance with U.S. Post Office policy—no exceptions.
  • If you do not seal the flaps of your mail, please leave them in the upright position.
  • When hand-delivering outgoing mail to the Campus Mail Room, please bring a Campus Mail charge card.
  • Campus Mail Service will not pick up UPS or Federal Express packages mistakenly delivered to your department.
