Property Control involves the management, monitoring, and protection of assets to ensure their value is preserved and operations run smoothly.
About Us
The Property office is responsible for maintaining all property records, for filing of official equipment reports and is the general liaison between the University and the State Property Office. Items $1000.00 or over in value must have the proper identification stickers. Items considered “exception items” should also have the proper identification stickers.

General Information
The forms below can assist with transfers, disposal, loans, or returns.
- Equipment Transfer Notice
- This is only for transferring equipment between departments.
- Property Disposal Report
- This form must be filed with Property Control to request authorization to cannibalize a piece of equipment. The department chair must provide a statement to Property Control that explains why the equipment is to be dismantled and how the parts will be used to construct or repair other existing equipment.
- Equipment Loan Receipt
- Any time a piece of equipment leaves the campus or returned a loan receipt must be filled out. The original to this must be sent to Property.
- Return Request
- Any time a piece of equipment needs to be returned or repaired, complete a Return Request. The form may be brought with the piece of equipment, sent through Campus Mail, or emailed to property@olemiss.edu.

The vehicle justification form is used to request approval for the purchase of university-owned vehicles.

Acquisition of Property

Removal of Property
The property disposal form is used to request the proper documentation and approval for the removal or disposal of university assets no longer needed.
