About EDCI 419

EDCI 419 explores how effective assessment practices inform instruction in the K-12 classroom. During this course, you will experience TeachLive by practicing your communication skills with virtual parents and guardians during a Parent Teacher Conference. The parents and guardians have realistic and diverse personalities, behaviors and responses. You will be given the students statistics and explain them to the parent. In addition, you will be able to watch a recording of your session and learn from your strengths and weaknesses. The goal of this TeachLive experience is to help you develop confidence and essential classroom management skills required for real classrooms.

Reflect on Your Session

Following your TeachLive session, you will receive a video recording and a rubric with feedback from a veteran teacher. The video recording can be accessed through the Mursion Portal, and the feedback rubric will be emailed to you within ten days of your session.

The rubric is designed to evaluate planning, delivery, management, and assessment skills. It will also include suggestions for improvement and areas of strength.

The TeachLive Coordinators are only responsible for delivering your TeachLive experience. Any assignments associated with TeachLive are allocated by your course instructor.

Please Note:

This experience is NOT graded by TeachLive! The goal of this experience is to help you get comfortable conducting a parent-teacher conference.
