Biography

Wayne Shaw has served in the Office of the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts since December 1999. Initially his role in the College as a computer consultant was to provide technical support to faculty and staff and to develop the College’s website. It evolved into the position of Assistant to the Dean and later Transfer Equivalency Manager and Data Analyst as he took on more administrative duties. He served on the original Transfer Equivalency Project Committee in 2005 and since then has been the College’s primary contact for transfer equivalency matters. He has been described as a power end user for the University’s SAP Campus Management System where he uses his analytical and database skills to pull data and generate operational reports. He received his Bachelor of Sciences in Mathematics in 1994 (cum laude) and Master of Sciences in Mathematics in 1996 from the University of Mississippi and later utilized the University’s further education policy to complete his Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science in 2005 (magna cum laude). He has also worked as an instructor of mathematics at the University of Mississippi and as a statistical analyst in the actuarial department at Southern Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company.
