Industry Experts to Discuss Future of Aerospace, Defense in Mississippi
Second annual Mississippi Aerospace and Defense Symposium to discuss opportunities in the state

OXFORD, Miss. – Aerospace and defense industry experts from across the nation will gather at the University of Mississippi this month to discuss industry opportunities and challenges in the state.
The Mississippi Enterprise for Technology, or MSET, and the Aerospace and Defense Alliance of Mississippi, known as ADAM, are partnering with Ole Miss to present the second annual Mississippi Aerospace and Defense Symposium, April 30-May 2. The event will connect industry, academia and the public sector in the hopes of creating new opportunities.

"The aerospace and defense industry is growing rapidly in our state, and we are thrilled to host this year's symposium to convene economic development, industry and government leaders to highlight this industry and showcase what Mississippi universities and communities can offer to it," said Greg Easson, interim vice chancellor for research and sponsored programs.
MSET is a public private partnership between the Mississippi Development Authority, NASA, and the Mississippi Research Consortium. In this role, MSET leverages university and government assets to recruit and retain high-wage jobs in Mississippi. ADAM, is an industry trade association that serves as the convening entity for Mississippi's aerospace, aeronautics, and defense industries. ADAM fosters industry collaboration and strategic planning, providing advocacy, and supports marketing and promotional efforts for the state's aerospace and defense assets.
The goal of the symposium is to help develop the aerospace and defense industry in Mississippi, said Davis Pace, MSET President and CEO.
"Hosting the symposium at the University of Mississippi is crucial," Pace said. "Situated near major industry players and home to research centers like the National Center for Physical Acoustics and the internationally renowned Center for Air and Space Law, the university fosters vital collaboration between academia and industry.
