Bradley Salters Hired as University's Chief Human Resources Officer
New leader brings more than two decades of experience at multiple universities
OXFORD, Miss. – Bradley Salters has been named chief human resources officer at the University of Mississippi following a national search. He brings more than 20 years of experience across higher education institutions.
Salters, who starts Monday (Nov. 25), said he's grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the university's mission by fostering a supportive and welcoming workplace environment.
"I look forward to collaborating with colleagues across the institution to strengthen initiatives that attract, support and grow talented individuals who make a difference here every day," he said. "I am highly passionate about students and deeply value how my role ultimately impacts their experience and success.
"My goal is to listen, learn and work alongside others to enhance employee well-being and help create a culture where everyone feels valued and empowered to succeed."
Salters is a "results-driven leader" who brings extensive experience in transforming human resources operations, said Steven Holley, vice chancellor for administration and finance.
"Bradley's proven track record of implementing strategic initiatives and building strong teams makes him an excellent fit for this critical role," Holley said. "I'm thrilled to welcome him to our campus community."
Salters joins the university from San Joaquin Delta College, where he most recently served as vice president of human resources and risk management. In this role, he carried out significant organizational improvements including a comprehensive classification and compensation study.
Previously, Salters held senior HR positions at Stanford University, where he partnered with the School of Humanities and Sciences and played a key role in universitywide policy development and job classification initiatives. He also served in HR leadership roles at Michigan State University.
"I began my career at Michigan State University as a banquet server in a setting much like The Inn at Ole Miss, and from there, I worked in custodial services, operations and facilities, housing and dining, and student services," Salters said.
"These foundational roles instilled in me a deep appreciation for the dedication and teamwork required to support a thriving university."
Salters brings extensive experience in employee relations, organizational development and change management. He holds a master's degree in human resource management from Central Michigan University.
In his spare time, Salters said he enjoys spending time with his wife, Tiffany, and their six children, volunteering in the community, participating in 4-H, going to museums and concerts, and spending time outdoors.
"Moving here from California, my family and I are excited to learn about the history and culture of Mississippi and look forward to being a part of this community," he said.
