Brief Bio
Steven Davis is Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry. Dr Davis received his Ph.D. from the University of Virginia in 1987. He was awarded a National Research Council Postdoctoral Award which he completed at the Naval Research Laboratory. After completing 18 months as a NRC Postdoctoral Fellow, Dr Davis started at Ole Miss in August 1988. His research interests are in computational chemistry, and he has published numerous papers related to high energy density structures and the quantum mechanical mechanism of strain energy release. Dr. Davis teaches graduate course in quantum mechanics, thermodynamics/statistical mechanics, and reaction kinetics/dynamics. He also teaches or has taught undergraduate courses in physical chemistry and general chemistry.
