Research Interests

Dr. Tantet’s research interests are in 18th Century French Literature and Franco-Scottish Enlightenment, Spatial and Performing Theories, as well as Second Language Acquisition. She continues her scholar work in her domain as well as exploring esoterism during the Enlightenment. Her teaching interests lie in pedagogy as well as assuring mental health for students. She is a Mental Health First Aider (with MHA) since 2022.

Biography

Dr. Tantet is originally from Lyon, France. After studying Linguistics (B.A) and French as a Foreign and Second Language (M.A) at the Université Lumière II in Lyon, she continued onto an M.A in French at the University of Memphis. In 2018, she started her Ph.D in French at Washington University in St Louis where she specialized in 18th Century literature and certified in Language Instruction. She defended her dissertation entitled “Streetwalkers, to each their own stage : Prostitutes & Philosophers” and graduated in August 2023.
