Dr. Iveta Imre is an assistant professor in journalism and video storytelling.
Research Interests
- In the first area of my research, I have published research articles on the transformation of media in former Yugoslavia, and how media roles and journalistic independence changed with these transformations.
- The second area of my research focuses on media messages, specifically in international communication. Some of the earlier work I did in this area looked at how the image of the United States was constructed in British and French editorials about the WikiLeaks scandal
- The third area of my research is concentrated on audience perceptions, primarily perceptions of privacy, freedom of expression, and trust in media. I have conducted and published articles that looked at these issues in different types of media from television to social media.
- A common thread in the majority of my research is international communication. I have published articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals such as New Media & Society, International Communication Gazette and Mass Communication & Society.
