Biography
Michael Tonos has spent more than 40 years in the media and communications business, primarily newspapers. Over his 35-year newspaper career, he served as executive editor of The Sun Herald in Biloxi-Gulfport and managing editor at The Sun Herald, the Vicksburg Post and the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal in Tupelo. He also owned JMT Consulting, a public relations firm. Since 2012, he has taught both Journalism and IMC classes at Ole Miss. In 2002, he taught as adjunct at Tulane University’s Biloxi campus.
