The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

Brief Bio

Tom Burnham joined Ole Miss as Dean of the School of Education and Professor of Curriculum and Instruction in 2004. In his position as dean, he is responsible for the Department of Curriculum and Instruction and the Department of Leadership and Counselor Education as well as Mississippi Teacher Corps, World Class Teaching Program, Mississippi Teacher Fellowship Program, the Center for Educational Research and Evaluation, and the North Mississippi Education Consortium. Dr. Burnham holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a master’s degree in School Principal from Mississippi College, and a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from Delta State University. Dr. Burnham has an A license in Adult Education and Social Studies in Mississippi and an AA and AAAA license in School Administration in both Mississippi and North Carolina. Dr. Burnham has served as Superintendent of Henderson County Public Schools (North Carolina), as Mississippi State Superintendent of Education, as Superintendent of Biloxi Public Schools, Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Southern Mississippi, and Assistant Dean for Continuing Education at Delta State University. Dr. Burnham is a member of the American Association of School Administrators, and a member of the Board of Examiners for the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). During his tenure at The University of Mississippi, Dr. Burnham has personally secured grants in excess of $4.5 million and successfully led the School through its NCATE continuing accreditation process.
